My Rating-2.5/5
The much hyped Masaba Lip Color from Lakme Absolute is finally out. Currently it is only available on Nykaa but soon will be available in the stores too. Moreover, it is an exclusive limited-edition product designed in collaboration with Masaba Gupta. I was also one of those who were too excited to try these lip colors so I also ordered one. Firstly, I ordered only one shade Cotton Candy and thought of ordering rest in my second order. It’s been 3-4 days I am using it and now I am ready to share my honest experience of this Lip pout.
Packaging
The lip color comes in a twist roll on with a nice print and a solid color cap to protect the tip. The complete range is inspired from candies. The stick is further securely packed in the same print box as of the stick.

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Lip Pouts Matte Masaba Lip Color
The lip color is waxy in texture with a mild fragrance. Masaba Lip Color comes in 10 shades out of which few are very close to each other. But all the shades are very live and vibrant in color except the Cotton Candy which is a neutral shade. As soon as I received my parcel the first product which I tried was this. I think I was over excited for using this product. But my whole excitement flushed away when I swatched it on my lips. The lip color was too hard to apply that I have to force it on my lips. Moreover, it got settled in the lip cracks making them more prominent. The most frustrating part was it felt so sticky and dry on the lips as if it has some glue in it.
Next day, I prep my lips by applying a lip balm first and then applying the lip color. This time it was much easier to glide the stick on the lips and even felt less sticky. The staying power of this lip pout is around 4-5 hours without meals. It fades a little on having light meals. It even does transfer a bit while having drinks. The lip color is also not that good in pigmentation. You will have to glide it 3-4 times to get the color.

Therefore, if you are going to try this product then I will suggest you use a lip balm before and go for a more vibrant color which might be good in pigmentation.

Overall, I am not impressed with the product at all. Considering the pigmentation, staying power, the sticky property I feel it is overpriced. I have certainly dropped the idea of buying rest of the shades. I think Lakme should have improved the product quality instead of spending on creating a hype of this product.
